I think there is unfortunately no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the effects that different foods have on vitiligo - according to my research- will vary from person to person. However, some general guidelines are that eating foods that are high in antioxidants and vitamins may help to improve vitiligo symptoms. In contrast, eating foods that are high in sugar or unhealthy fats may worsen vitiligo symptoms. Some of the most commonly cited foods that may contribute to vitiligo include eggs, dairy products, citrus fruits, and caffeine. While these findings are not conclusive, it may be worth considering eliminating these foods from your diet if you are at risk for developing vitiligo.
The scientific literature on the effects that different foods have on vitiligo is sparse. However, some studies suggest that foods rich in antioxidants may help to improve symptoms of vitiligo. Foods such as berries, green leafy vegetables, and citrus fruits are all high in antioxidants, and may be beneficial for people with vitiligo. Additionally, omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to be beneficial for treating vitiligo, and can be found in foods such as salmon, walnuts, and flaxseeds.
My experience is that since Covid started I started eating more and more at home, home cooked meals. I think personally it helped with progression of my Vitiligo. The patches look a bit smaller, and they did not spread any further.
